Why Are The Mountains Waiting?

Well, they’re waiting because they can’t exactly go walking away by themselves, now can they?

There’s this quote by this really famously awesome guy that goes like this:

“You’re off to Great Places!

Today is your day!

Your mountain is waiting,

So…get on your way!”

The question isn’t “Why are the mountains waiting?”, but rather “Who are the mountains waiting for?” And the answer to that is “YOU!”. Well…me. For the purposes of this particular blog, the mountains are waiting for me.

Not only does Dr. Seuss assure me that I’m off to Great Places, but an even more reliable source tells me the same.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

-Jeremiah 29:11

God is writing a plan for my life. He has Great Places for me to go. And the time is now. Not when I’m older. It’s now. There are all kinds of mountains along the way: mountains of doubt, mountains of loss, mountains of disagreement. But there are also mountains of peace, mountains of joy, and mountains of unity.

That’s what this blog is. It’s the written version of my journey to the mountains waiting for me. To them, through them, and beyond them to the next ones. It’s my thoughts, my experiences, and straight-up proof that the Holy Spirit is moving in my life and in the lives of those around me. This blog exists to bring glory to God through what He has done, continues to do, and will do in my life.
