This post has nothing to do about Scar or The Lion King. I was trying to thing of an appropriate title that encapsulated the craziness of the past few weeks and this was the first thing that popped into my head. Thus, a title is born. There is some truth though–this whirlwind of life has been mad and I am a king.
Hello, Armadillos
Today’s post is brought to you by The Armadillo Advocates: Armored Awesomeness. In Florida, the pests come in different forms. Boars are mean and the birds are harmless–but the armadillos dig holes in your yard. But actually I have a serious post to write, so let’s just take a moment to enjoy the coolness of the armadillo (despite its digging habits) before I jump in.
Goodbye, Whoopie Pies
In a mere 72 hours, I will be driving away from Lancaster County [home] and journeying towards Clermont, Florida [newhome]. I can hardly wrap my head around it, but I know I can’t wait.
Homegoing
Last week, on February 24, my little brother insisted on being the first in our family to arrive at the greatest place of all: Heaven. My life has changed drastically and my entire perspective on life has shifted.
3 Reasons I’m a Dirty, Rotten Liar
First reason is that I’m a sinner. Thought I’d get the real obvious one out of the way first. I’m a sinner, I fall waaaaay short of God’s holy standards, I’m in need of grace, lying is but one fatal sin among many. Praise God for the person of Jesus Christ. But moving on to reasons 2 and 3…
Snowflake County and College
It’s been almost two months since I’ve posted. I even made a video on my way back from Houghton (yes, while driving) to post as an update on my time at Houghton, but I never got around to editing it…which is a real shame, cause it involved my adventure getting coffee, singing obnoxiously, and almost driving off the highway. And that was ages ago. Sorry for the delay. Life has been cray.
Today, I Feel Popular
Today, I drove five hours, 30 minutes of which was spent attempting to drive with my knees while eating a Sheetz sandwich. Thankfully, the highway was mostly empty. Today, I arrived at Houghton College to spend a week visiting friends and playing music. Today, I’ve been hugged and encouraged by many of my friends whom I haven’t seen for awhile. Today, I feel popular.
Harvest U 2014 Day 5: Fervent Prayer and Final Parting
Harvest University has ended. What a ride it has been. Today’s final elective was by far my favorite elective thus far and Pastor James MacDonald’s final session was a challenge and encouragement. I am leaving this conference refreshed and with a renewed passion for my great God. Not only that, but God has answered prayer: I have direction. Harvest U 2014 Day 4: Pretzels and People
Every night, I’m finding myself more and more unable to articulate the experiences of the day. Perhaps it’s the culmination of late nights and early mornings, perhaps it’s the massive amount of teaching I’m receiving, perhaps it’s the overwhelming greatness of God, or perhaps it’s the combination of all three and some. Continue reading “Harvest U 2014 Day 4: Pretzels and People”
Harvest U 2014 Day 3: Christ In Me
I am overwhelmed and at a loss for words because of the greatness of my God. How He speaks to me. How He knows me. How He has already won. How He is always with me. How He is in control of my life. Continue reading “Harvest U 2014 Day 3: Christ In Me”
