First reason is that I’m a sinner. Thought I’d get the real obvious one out of the way first. I’m a sinner, I fall waaaaay short of God’s holy standards, I’m in need of grace, lying is but one fatal sin among many. Praise God for the person of Jesus Christ. But moving on to reasons 2 and 3…
It’s been almost two months since I’ve posted. I even made a video on my way back from Houghton (yes, while driving) to post as an update on my time at Houghton, but I never got around to editing it…which is a real shame, cause it involved my adventure getting coffee, singing obnoxiously, and almost driving off the highway. And that was ages ago. Sorry for the delay. Life has been cray.
Harvest University has ended. What a ride it has been. Today’s final elective was by far my favorite elective thus far and Pastor James MacDonald’s final session was a challenge and encouragement. I am leaving this conference refreshed and with a renewed passion for my great God. Not only that, but God has answered prayer: I have direction. At 2:30am this morning, I was rudely awakened by the ear-splitting beeping of the smoke alarm in our apartment. Today began with a terrifyingly loud alarm at 4:30am. Today continued in a van full of conversation that often went over my head. Today ended with a discussion about the finer points of Cars, Planes, and How To Train Your Dragon with a pastor’s two kids. Today a team from my church, Harvest Bible Chapel Lancaster, drove twelve hours to Chicago in order to participate in Harvest University, which kicks off tomorrow evening. Life is complete when your name is etched in green peppers in pizza. The pinnacle of my existence has been reached. God, take me now.
As much fun as it was writing my name in a pizza, alas, that was not the sole purpose of my existence. And speaking of which, I’m still trying to figure that out. I’m not any closer to concrete answers–other than to glorify God…but in what capacity?–but God’s provided some cool opportunities for me this fall. I’m excited to see how God will use these opportunities to reveal His will for me.
